Metals and Hydrometallurgy

Hydrometallurgy is a technical process in which the valuable metal components in ores, concentrates and other materials are dissolved in solution or separated out in new solid phase by leach agents to separate, enrich and extract metals. 

The application of ion exchange resins has gradually matured in hydrometallurgy industry. Ion exchange resin can be selected to enrich different metal ions, including rare and precious metals. The amino-carboxylic acid resin developed by Huaherbal is highly selective to polyvalent, especially divalent metal ions, and can be used for the separation and purification of a variety of metals. Thiourea resin is specially used for the adsorption of precious metal ions, such as Au, Pt,Pd, etc. Mercapto resin was developed for removing various forms of mercury in wastewater. Aminoxime resin can be used to extract gallium from the mother solution of alumina preparation by Bayer process.
