Product Description

PRODUCT INFORMATION
ASD-001 Resin for Ammonia Control in Recirculating Aquaculture Systems

ASD-001 is a macroporous strong acid cation exchange resin with a polystyrene-divinylbenzene backbone and sulfonic acid exchange groups, supplied in sodium (Na+) or hydrogen (H+) form. In aquaculture water treatment it targets the ammonium ion (NH4+), the most dangerous nitrogen fraction for fish, and exchanges it out of solution so total ammonia nitrogen stays inside the safe window for the stocked species.

KEY FEATURES
  • High working exchange capacity removes ammonium ions efficiently at the low concentrations typical of RAS and fish farm water.
  • Ostrich to brown opaque spherical beads with high sphericity (>90%) resist attrition in continuously recirculated systems.
  • Macroporous structure tolerates organic fouling from feed residues and metabolic waste better than gel-type resins.
  • Simple brine regeneration restores capacity quickly, keeping operating cost low for daily ammonia polishing duty.
  • Wide particle distribution 0.315-1.25 mm suits both pressurized vessel and gravity-fed filter configurations.
  • Stable physical and chemical properties deliver dependable long service life in 24/7 aquaculture operation.

APPLICATION SCENARIOS
  • Recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) for salmon, trout, shrimp and tilapia hatcheries.
  • Fish farm water reuse loops where ammonia accumulation limits stocking density.
  • Aquaculture effluent treatment before discharge or water exchange.
  • Cold-water and warm-water hatchery water conditioning systems.
  • Mobile water treatment units for live fish transport and market holding tanks.

FAQ
Q1: Where is ASD-001 installed in an RAS loop?
It is typically placed after the biofilter and before the UV or oxygen contact stage, as a polishing step that catches ammonium spikes when the biofilter is cold-stressed or overloaded.
Q2: How is the resin regenerated?
The resin is regenerated with sodium chloride (NaCl) brine. The ammonium-loaded spent brine can be disposed of through normal farm effluent channels or treated on site.
Q3: Can I get a free sample for a pilot test?
Yes, a free sample is available and only the courier cost is covered by the buyer. Share your water volume, fish species and ammonia levels for a sizing recommendation.
Q4: What is the delivery time?
Stock grades ship in 3-7 working days; customized packaging or large container orders take 15-25 days after confirmation.
