Product Description
ASD-001 is a macroporous strong acid cation exchange resin with a polystyrene-divinylbenzene backbone and sulfonic acid exchange groups, supplied in sodium (Na+) or hydrogen (H+) form. In aquaculture water treatment it targets the ammonium ion (NH4+), the most dangerous nitrogen fraction for fish, and exchanges it out of solution so total ammonia nitrogen stays inside the safe window for the stocked species.
- High working exchange capacity removes ammonium ions efficiently at the low concentrations typical of RAS and fish farm water.
- Ostrich to brown opaque spherical beads with high sphericity (>90%) resist attrition in continuously recirculated systems.
- Macroporous structure tolerates organic fouling from feed residues and metabolic waste better than gel-type resins.
- Simple brine regeneration restores capacity quickly, keeping operating cost low for daily ammonia polishing duty.
- Wide particle distribution 0.315-1.25 mm suits both pressurized vessel and gravity-fed filter configurations.
- Stable physical and chemical properties deliver dependable long service life in 24/7 aquaculture operation.
