Product Description

PRODUCT INFORMATION
ASD-001 Resin for Heavy Metal Removal in Electroplating Wastewater

ASD-001 is a macroporous strong acid cation exchange resin with sulfonic acid groups on a polystyrene-divinylbenzene copolymer, supplied in Na+ or H+ form. In electroplating and metal finishing wastewater, it removes and concentrates heavy metal cations such as copper, nickel, zinc and lead, helping plants meet discharge limits while enabling metal recovery and water recycling.

KEY FEATURES
  • Removes heavy metal cations to trace levels in a final polishing step after conventional precipitation.
  • High exchange capacity and fast kinetics treat high flow polishing duties economically.
  • Eluate from regeneration is concentrated and can be recycled to the plating bath or sent for metal recovery.
  • Macroporous matrix tolerates the complexing agents and surfactants found in plating rinse waters.
  • Supports zero-discharge and water-recycling programs by polishing recycled rinse water.
  • Attrition-resistant spherical beads give stable hydraulic performance in fixed-bed vessels.

FAQ
Q1: Which metals can ASD-001 remove?
ASD-001 removes cationic heavy metals including copper, nickel, zinc, lead, cadmium and others. Precipitated or complexed metals may need pretreatment - send your full water analysis for confirmation.
Q2: How is the loaded resin regenerated?
Dilute hydrochloric or sulfuric acid strips the metals into a concentrated eluate; the resin is then converted back to Na+ form with brine before the next cycle.
Q3: Can the metal eluate be reused?
Yes. The concentrated eluate can be recycled into the plating bath in many applications, or sent to a metal recovery contractor - turning a waste cost into a credit.
Q4: What support do you offer for system design?
Free samples and engineering guidance are provided, including column sizing, regeneration scheduling and trial protocols. Only the courier cost of samples is borne by the buyer.
