Product Description
Sphelite ASD-35 Primary Amine Resin for Waste Incineration Flue Gas CO2 Capture
Waste to energy plants already recover energy from mixed municipal waste, yet their flue gas still carries 8-12 % CO2 and the plant usually sits inside a city where every tonne of carbon counts. Sphelite ASD-35 is a macroporous primary amine resin on a crosslinked polystyrene matrix that captures CO2 from the cleaned flue gas downstream of the acid gas scrubber, turning an existing stack into a carbon capture point without a solvent regeneration loop.
Application Scope
ASD-35 fits post combustion capture after semi dry or wet acid gas scrubbing, polishing duty where the plant wants a low CO2 stack concentration, and containerised or skid mounted capture units for urban plants with limited plot space. It is also used in waste gasification and refuse derived fuel gas conditioning, where the same resin protects downstream compression and utilisation equipment.

Why ASD-35 Performs Here
Works after acid gas scrubbing
Once HCl and SO2 are removed, the remaining CO2 is captured chemically by the primary amine group, so capture efficiency does not depend on the CO2 partial pressure being high.
Compact footprint
Because the resin needs no solvent sump, reboiler or large absorber column, a waste to energy plant can fit the capture skid into an existing building, which matters when the site is surrounded by housing.
Stable across wet gas
Municipal waste flue gas is saturated with water vapour after scrubbing. ASD-35 keeps its capacity in humid gas and needs no upstream drying step.
Low operating cost
Regeneration heat is far below a 30 % MEA reboiler duty, so the plant keeps more of its steam turbine output and avoids solvent make up and corrosion inhibitor costs.
Packing, Delivery & Service
Standard export packing is 25 kg per bag, 40 bags (1 ton) per pallet, with custom drum or big bag packing available on request. Lead time is about 10 working days after payment, and our technical team supports loading calculations, pressure drop estimates and pilot column trials before you scale up.
FAQ
Q1. Which point of the flue gas train should the bed sit in?
A: Install the capture bed after dust removal and acid gas scrubbing, with the gas cooled below 60 °C. That protects the resin from fly ash and keeps the working capacity at its design value.
Q2. Is the resin affected by trace heavy metals?
A: Volatile metals are largely captured upstream in the bag filter and scrubber. With normal operation ASD-35 shows no measurable capacity loss; we can advise on a guard bed if your waste mix is unusual.
Q3. Can we start with a small unit?
A: Yes. Trial quantities from 1 kg are available and many customers validate capture rate and pressure drop on a container sized skid before ordering a full bed.
Specifications above are typical values from routine production and can be adjusted to meet a specific project requirement. Please confirm the working conditions with our technical team before ordering.
