Product Description
Overview
ACD-800A delivers selective gallium capture through chelating functional groups anchored on a styrene-acrylonitrile copolymer backbone. The uniform 0.3-0.6mm spherical beads keep a sphericity of at least 90% after attrition testing, so the bed stays clean and pressure drop stays stable through repeated adsorption and desorption cycles in hydrometallurgical service.
Bead Quality Data
- Particle size range 0.3-0.6mm, 95% minimum, screened for tight distribution.
- Sphericity after attrition 90% minimum, limiting fines generation and resin make-up cost.
- Shipping weight 0.72-0.82 g/ml and moisture content 45-55%.
- Gallium adsorption capacity 15 g/L minimum, measured on Bayer-liquor feed.

Selectivity and Capacity
Because the active groups are chelating rather than strongly acidic or basic, ACD-800A binds Ga3+ preferentially in the presence of large excesses of sodium, aluminium and other competing cations. Working capacity is maintained at 15 g/L or above, allowing compact columns and low eluate volumes.
Key Applications
- Selective gallium adsorption from Bayer process alumina mother liquor.
- Gallium polishing and purification before cementation or electrolysis.
- Recovery of gallium from hydrometallurgical process and recycle streams.
Operating Conditions
Pre-treatment: Rinse resin with 1-2BV pure water.
Adsorption Conditions: Suspended solids (SS) ≤ 1 ppm.
Regeneration:
- Regenerants: 4-6BV 5% H2SO4 and 2BV 5.0 mol/L NaOH
- Concentration: 5% H2SO4, 5.0 mol/L NaOH
- Flow rates: 1-1.5BV/h (H2SO4), 2BV/h (water & NaOH)
- Rinse resin with 2-4BV pure water after acid elution prior to NaOH activation
Packaging
25 liters/bag · >25KG/bag · 50 liters/drum (dry type) · >200 liters/drum · >1 cbm on a pallet · 1 Ton on a pallet. Customized packaging is available to meet domestic and international transportation standards.
Storage
Storage temperature shall not exceed 90°C; store above 0°C in wet state. Keep the package sealed to prevent water loss. If the resin dries out, soak it in ethanol for about 2 hours, wash with clean water, then repackage or use. Prevent the beads from freezing and cracking in winter; if frozen, melt slowly at room temperature.
